JC’S Weekly Top 20 Power Rankings (04/20/17)

After a brief hiatus JC’s Weekly Top 20 Power Rankings are back in a big way this week! New #1 contenders are popping up everywhere on SmackDown and Payback is fast approaching for the RAW brand!

  1. Braun Strowman (Last Week – 9)

The monster among men is the best thing in WWE right now and it is not even close. Monday Night ROAR has been fantastic the last couple weeks laying waste to Roman Reigns and every other superstar that gets in his way. From throwing Kalisto into a dumpster to breaking a ring, no one is on Braun’s level right now.

  1. AJ Styles (Last Week – 3)

The face that runs the place got another big win this week vs Baron Corbin in the blue brand’s main event. Styles may be the #1 contender for a mid-card title but it certainly does not feel that way.

  1. Kevin Owens (Last Week – 7)

The new face of America has already made a big impact on SmackDown Live. I am loving this new gimmick and the return of the open challenges. KO is going to be just fine on Tuesday nights.

  1. Roman Reigns (Last Week – 1)

The leader of the Roman Empire was off TV this week due to the beat down he got from Braun Strowman last week. I am very excited for this match at Payback next week.

  1. Randy Orton (Last Week – 5)

The WWE champion appears to be in a holding pattern as we await his House of Horrors match versus Bray Wyatt scheduled for Payback. But, we know who his next opponent will be…

  1. Jinder Mahal (Last Week – Definitely Not Ranked)

Don’t hinder Jinder? How about push him to the moon! In a shocker Jinder Mahal became the #1 contender for the WWE title and I for one am stoked! I cannot wait to see what Jinder does with this opportunity.

  1. Alexa Bliss (Last Week – Not Ranked)

Little Ms. Bliss is back in a big way as she is now the #1 contender for the RAW women’s championship and I could not be more excited. Bliss is my favorite women’s character in the company right now and she keeps getting better and better.

  1. Charlotte (Last Week – Not Ranked)

Another women that benefited greatly from the Superstar Shakeup is the new #1 contender for the SmackDown women’s championship. The queen is being booked as the top acquisition in the draft and appears to be an enemy of the entire SmackDown’s women division. I look forward to her clash with Naomi next week.

  1. The Miz (Last Week – 6)

I thoroughly enjoyed Miz TV this week on RAW. Miz hit Dean Ambrose hard with some truths and has rekindled a rivalry that never really finished before WrestleMania.

  1. Dean Ambrose (Last Week – 18)

Ambrose answered the call when he was verbally trashed by The Miz and I am invested in another feud between these two. The lunatic fringe certainly has his character flaws but there is enough there for me to still be a fan.

  1. The Hardy Boyz (Last Week – 2)

Team Extreme has been back for a few weeks now and I am still enjoying what they have brought to the RAW tag team division. I also am enjoying the Matt Hardy inconsistency on twitter as written up by our boy DQ earlier this week.

  1. Bray Wyatt (Last Week – 8)

I still find it very odd that Bray is fighting SmackDown Live champion Randy Orton at Payback. I like Bray’s promos overall, but this feud has lost all steam now that the two are on separate shows. I am ready for that to be over with so we can all move on.

  1. Neville (Last Week – 11)

The King of the Cruiserweights is still a stud. Not much else for me to add to that this week.

  1. Baron Corbin (Last Week – 17)

The lone wolf lost via count out to AJ Styles in the main event of SmackDown Live this week. I am curious to see what comes next for one of my favorite guys in the coming weeks.

  1. Sheamus & Cesaro (Last Week – 16)

Shesaro is still entertaining me and I am looking forward to their match with the Hardy Boyz at Payback.

  1. Chris Jericho (Last Week – Not Ranked)

I am still enjoying Chris Jericho every Monday, but the momentum is gone with Kevin Owens no longer on RAW.

  1. Brock Lesnar (Last Week – 4)

The WWE Universal champion is MIA and probably will be for a while. I am simply ranking him here because he kept that fruit roll up championship out of my line of sight for a week.

  1. Naomi (Last Week – 20)

I am beginning to feel the glow a little bit. Naomi’s athleticism has always impressed me and now she is finally finding a little bit of a groove with her character. The SmackDown women’s champion deserves to be on this list.

  1. The Usos (Last Week – Not Ranked)

The SmackDown Tag Team champions were left off TV once again this week, but I am excited for what is on the horizon for them with hopefully a new emphasis on the tag team division.

  1. Seth Rollins (Last Week – 10)

This ranking is purely based off name value. Nestlemania said it perfectly on last week’s podcast, I just don’t care about Seth right now and that sucks.

Fell from Rankings: The Revival, John Cena & Nikki Bella, Shinsuke Nakamura, Tye Dillinger

And the return of the video of the week!
